Something is buried beneath everything in Rome. During this tour we descend to the core of the city and go back in time.
During the drive to the Catacombs, see the Circus Maximus, the ancient wall of Rome and the oldest and most famous original Roman road: the Appian Way.

Entering the Catacombs we provide you with flashlights as we descend into dark tunnels where Christians once met to pray beside the tombs of their most beloved martyrs. See different kinds of tombs excavated in tufa stone and learn some of the Christian symbols. Our second stop is a 12th century basilica: St. Clement's Church. We descend the staircase and we find ourselves in an original 4th-century church, decorated with ancient frescoes. Going further down we rediscover the ancient Roman temple devoted to the Persian god Mithra, a mysterious religion. Even further down from the temple, we enter a big building dating back to the 1st century A.D., probably the mint of Rome in imperial times. If you enjoyed this experience, we suggest you go on to visit other interesting underground places, like the Balbi Crypta and the Mamertine Prison; we will provide you with useful information about them.

The Art of Guiding: It is the skill of selecting information and varying it for different audiences. It is the skill of presenting in a simple and precise way. It is the skill of allowing the visitor to look and to see and to understand. It is a skill which, if well performed, is invisible. If it is missing, then it is all too evident.
