If you love Roman history, then don't miss the Palatine Hill, where Rome was founded by the mythical twins Romulus and Remus in 753 BC.
Here the Emperors built their private palaces; you'll see part of their overwhelming ruins and in the tiny museum you'll be able to admire some of the original statues that decorated this area. Vist the most impressive House of Augustus, once home to the great emperor, recently restored. There you'll see his small private study and the vivid colors of its stunning Roman paintings.

From the top of the hill, enjoy the magnificent view of the Circus Maximus, the Aventine Hill, and the Roman Forum.

The Art of Guiding: It is the skill of selecting information and varying it for different audiences. It is the skill of presenting in a simple and precise way. It is the skill of allowing the visitor to look and to see and to understand. It is a skill which, if well performed, is invisible. If it is missing, then it is all too evident.
